Signs That Someone isn’t A Good Leader
My coaching work takes me to many places and I say to many people who I come in contact with that I have the best job in the world, it is an absolute privilege to sit alongside many different leaders of all shapes and sizes, background and beliefs etc. Each and every one of them have their own definition of ‘Leader(ship)’ and wonderful stories on how exactly they ended up in a leadership position.

Are there effective ways to help leaders grow? Published by Nick Roud, Executive Coach
One thing is for sure executives don’t invest in coaching they invest in results. My job is to get results with you. To help you be(come) the best leader you can be my coaching approach centres on you. I work with some of the smartest leaders around, all come to me as they want to look at ways to stay ahead of the rest and improve, it goes without saying they share the same intent – to be the very best leader they can possibly be.

How to take Criticism with a smile. Published in the New Zealand Herald – Business Section
I got a call from a journalist a few months back Steve Hart who writes for our leading newspaper here in New Zealand The New Zealand Herald. He wanted to talk with me about what I do as a coach and to see if he could bring my thoughts to an article he was pulling together. titled: How to take criticism with a smile.
My first reaction was thanks but no thanks, I am not one for speaking in public and prefer sharing my thoughts with a person one-2-one. Steve and I spoke for about an hour and half and he made me feel very comfortable and in his words, Nick “I am not here to throw you under the bus”. We spoke a great deal about our chosen paths and why we do what we do, we shared similar stories of moving many years ago from the UK and our families.
Here is our article that was published on 23rd November in the Business Section.
For any of you reading this I hope it helps you.
Sometimes in our careers we need to take feedback with a smile :), feel free to share this with any family, friends or work mates who might find it hard receiving feedback.
“When negative feedback is presented tactfully and constructively it can be as effective as positive feedback”
Look after yourself and each other,
Nick.
