  • I’m not getting called in for an interview Nick. 
  • I’m really good at what I do but don’t seem to be getting a look in!
  • Applied for a dozen jobs and still nothing, why do I bother!
  • Can’t seem to connect with anyone and just get rejection letters back!

Sound familiar? 

Since 2006 I’ve continued to see and hear many same and or similar stories about how recruiters are crap at what they do, why AI is not picking up my Resume, that HR people just don’t care, etc, etc etc. If your resume is good your phone will ring! 

Well my beautiful friend it all starts with YOU, nobody else, YOU. If you want to get an interview for a job it’s your job to take action. 

If your resume isn’t on point it wont get a look in period. 

The winning resume isn’t carefully crafted to an inch of its life, its is personal, it is real, it is written by you. It brings to life what makes you wickedly you. Its not simply a list of ingredients that you chuck into a Thermomix and hope the cake comes out all looking pretty and nice. The winning resume has an introduction, a middle and an end. It flows, it breathes life into a dull piece of white paper and yes my friend given what I just said it does generate interest. 

The resume itself hasn’t much changed over the past few decades. Sure we have beautiful looking computer added technology to help us plug and play, and don’t get me wrong I see a lot of beautiful looking computer generated resumes each week here at Nick Roud Coaching to know straight away that the person sending it hasn’t really given it much love or thought, just click, send and spray and then hope! The phone will not ring, the interview requests will not happen. Hiring managers can see through a well thought out resume over a copy and paste templated one. They will not respond to you, they will ignore your so called interest and you will very quickly spin into a state of panic which leads to more click, send and spray!!

Why do many professionals keep avoiding the necessary work to ensure our number one prize possession aka Resume isn’t given the love and full attention it deserves. 

What I do witness first hand in my coaching business is when people double down, when they really do peel back the onion, when they do write from the heart they get traction, they get movement and they get interviews. My job is to expose the hidden gems that make you……you. My job is to ensure your number one prize possession aka Resume will get noticed by hiring managers. That is why we do not use any form of AI, Chat GPT, Templates. We get good old fashion pen and paper and start from the ground up. That is why my clients get the results they deserve.

We have never written a resume! I am dyslexic you don’t need that from me, I see things differently and my super power isn’t writing its talking together with you and brining to life your professional history and future. There are no silver bullet/hacks to writing your resume. One size will unfortunately won’t serve all. You are the special one, the one a hiring manager wants to hear from not a computer generated word buzz dump. 

The resume of 2024 will not only become more real it will continue to evolve. Just like a great book your resume will invite someone in, get them turning the page and want to hear more! That more will come from your interview with that person.
